Please support plans for the Clevedon and Weston super Mare Cycle Route
This year there has been progress in getting a cycling link across the Congresbury Yeo to create a pleasant route between Clevedon and Weston super Mare or Sand Bay, in North Somerset.
This route will transform cycling in this area by cutting out the longer and dangerous A370 main road, benefitting both commuters and weekend riders and families. For many years Bristol Cycling Campaign and CTC have campaigned for this link. Earlier this year North Somerset Council executive supported it and allocated funds to get it done.
Now it is under way, it is important that cyclists demonstrate strong support for the project – so the council are deterred from dropping it if there’s a difficulty, and so we can press for a tarmac surface when the link opens. Please register your support on the website, which also has information about the route.
Supporters will be invited to a meeting in January hosted by Clevedon Transition
